St. Baldrick’s Charity Event
St. Baldrick’s Day is rapidly approaching! As most of you know, South Holland Firefighters have been involved with supporting St. Baldrick’s since 2004. Most as shavees, some with financial donations and yet others in their own way.
Most recently, Firefighter/Paramedic Tony Di Novo collected donations for St. Baldrick’s and traveled to Cork, Ireland in June at his own expense to run the Cork City Marathon! Thank you for your selfless commitment Tony!
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers, and to give survivors long and healthy lives. So we’re asking for your support in helping us find a cure for the #1 killer of children.
Annually over 175,000 children are diagnosed with some form of cancer. In 2013, St. Baldrick’s held over 1,100 events with over 50,000 shavees and raised over $33 Million.
The South Holland Firefighters contributed to those numbers when they attended the Glenwoodie Golf Club event and helped raise $16,901.00!
St. Baldrick’s Day will be at Glenwoodie Golf Club and will take place March 21, 2015. To get involved click this link and get started! If you have any questions, you can call the Fire Station at 708-331-3123 and ask for Firefighter/Paramedic Tom Farr.
Thank you in advance for your support!
