Post-Incident Citizen Training
The South Holland Fire Department has taken an active role in Post-Incident Citizen Training since early 2010. The primary mission of the program is to raise awareness of fire safety.
Within four to six hours after a significant fire, members of the MABAS 24 Educators group will canvas a one block radius from the fire site to offer residents a quick, yet very important, fire safety inspection, and offer to install 10-year battery smoke detectors as needed.
Immediately following house fires, the South Holland Fire Department receives support from neighboring fire departments as they go door-to-door handing out fire safety materials and installing 10-year battery smoke detectors in the homes of South Holland residents.
