South Holland Police Checkpoint
Saturday, August 22, 2015, the South Holland Police Department will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in the Village of South Holland. This is an initiative designed to combat impaired driving, and ultimately to save lives. The checkpoint will operate from 11:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. in the area of 162rd and Wausau Avenue.
The purpose of the checkpoint is to detect and deter impaired drivers, in addition to ensuring that occupants are properly using restraints (including child safety seats). The location will be well marked by signage, marked patrol vehicles, and uniformed officers. This initiative also provides an opportunity for the South Holland Police Department to remind motorists to always wear a seat belt while operating a motor vehicle, and don’t text and drive.
For additional information regarding the planned checkpoint, contact the South Holland Police Department at 708-331-3131, option 2.
