The South Holland Municipal Band will conduct their final performance for the summer season at the Paarlberg Festival on Labor Day, Monday, September 1. The annual festival, hosted by the South Holland Historical Society, is held at Paarlberg Park, 172nd Street and Paxton Avenue.

2014 marks the 72nd anniversary of the municipal band providing free concerts all summer, beginning on Memorial Day at Veterans Memorial Park. The band, which also performs annually at Holland Home, is known for its patriotic themes and songs from Broadway.

In addition to the Municipal Band, activities at Paarlberg Festival will include tours of the historic Paarlberg homestead, family-oriented games, ethnic food, craft displays, and other entertainment. The fest runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
