Police Concluded “Walk and Talk” with National Night Out
It was a series of “first” for the South Holland Police Department with the launch of a new community outreach initiative, Walk and Talk. The program is designed to increase the department’s delivery of quality services. Since inception in June, police officers walked neighborhoods, engaged the public and created meaningful relationships to increase citizen confidence, reduce complaints, and enhance overall communication.
In celebration of the successful initiative, on August 4, 2015, police held its first annual National Night Out event in the municipal campus parking lot (16226 Wausau Avenue). Food, games, face painting, balloons, laughter, and dancing (lots of dancing) are just some of the highlights of the evening out with police.
Members of the South Holland Police Department express their deepest appreciation to the community for joining them in a blow-out celebration.
