Notice to Bidders: Hardscape & Landscape Improvements
HARDSCAPE & LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS
at the
162nd STREET RAILROAD VIADUCT
(just West of Wausau Avenue)
SOUTH HOLLAND, ILLINOIS
Sealed bids for the above-mentioned project will be received by the Village of South Holland, Illinois at the administrative office of the Village of South Holland, 16226 Wausau Avenue, South Holland, Illinois 60473 until 10:00 A.M. local time on October 20, 2015 at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Bids are being solicited for the following Hardscape and Landscape improvements and related maintenance which include:
Demolition of existing railroad tie retaining walls; Existing plant material removal & disposal; Construction of dry set stacked stone retaining walls and related backfilling; Landscaping including plant material, sod and mulch.
Drawings and Project Manuals may be obtained at the South Holland Village Hall, 16226 Wausau Avenue, South Holland, IL during normal business hours.
All bids and required Certifications shall be submitted on the forms or copies of the forms provided in the Project Manual. The Bid Proposal shall be filled out in its entirety including all required Unit Prices per the PRICE SCHEDULE(S) for the work as well as all listed Alternate Bid Prices (if any). Failure to do so may be grounds for disqualification of the bids.
All bids shall be submitted to the Village of South Holland, 16226 Wausau Avenue, South Holland, IL. A Bid Bond is not required.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum and proof of Insurance at the minimum coverage levels stated in the Instructions To Bidders within fifteen (15) days after acceptance of the bid by the Owner. Failure to furnish such bonds and proof of insurance will result in forfeiture of the award.
All bidders are requested to visit the site.
Any bid submitted unsealed, unsigned, or received subsequent to the aforementioned date and time will be disqualified and returned to the bidder.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or bidders, to waive all technicalities and to accept the bid deemed to be most favorable to the Village. All bids submitted shall be valid for a period of 45 days after the opening of bids.
All contractors will be required to comply with the Illinois Human Rights Act and the Illinois Public Works Employment Discrimination Act. All contractors shall comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act.
The Village of South Holland hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively assure that the contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will, in the Owner’s sole discretion, be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder without discrimination on the grounds of race, religion, sex, national origin or ancestry.
